Being a woman is not that easy 4 July 2009

It was exactly 3 Fridays ago when our hopes and dreams for a new member in both families was troubled. After we heard no fetal heartbeat and a 4-week difference in gestational age last June 4, I religiously followed my OB’s advice for medications and complete bed rest pior to another scan after 2 weeks. See my previous post here.

Since Val left for Cebu on the 7th, I was then restricted in the 4 corners of my parents’ room with the TV as my constant companion during daytime. Their room is nearest the bathroom and I would transfer to my room before bedtime. My brother would bring my meals upstairs, wash my dishes and refill my 2L water bottle. Hmm… I used to consume almost 2 and a half bottles of water.

Reliving the busy life in Manila 27 November 2008

I was supposed to return to Cebu with Val after his 5-day vacation in Bacolod. However, we received a sad news that prompted me to accompany my father in Manila. My paternal grandmother passed away shortly before her operation began in Hong Kong. My father and I left for Manila last Sunday morning while Val packed for Cebu that night.

I’m here in Manila again not for pleasure or vacation but to wait for my grandmother’s burial date. We may leave for Hong Kong anytime because there was no direct flight from Bacolod. We are staying with my brother’s rented unit in Sta. Mesa. I’m only familiar with SM Sta. Mesa. I’m sure I’ll get lost if I am left alone in the small streets here but to my relief, the compound is near the Pureza LRT 2 station. Now, that’s my reference point!

Shared passion 27 November 2008

Val was home last week for our wedding anniversary. Actually, it was a belated celebration. We had dinner with both families at L’ Sea on the same day he arrived. We had several errands to accomplish on the duration of his stay. Even our friend Ricsyl wasn’t able to get a chance to meet us. However, we were able to push through with our plan for a swimming session in Sta. Fe Resort.

Last Nov. 21, together with Val’s sisters, we arrived at Sta. Fe Resort an hour late from our agreed time of 6 a.m. There were several people doing lengthwise laps. Most of them were aged 40s and up doing their morning laps. It was our first return to the resort after we had our swimming lesson more than 5 years ago. Our coach was there but he wasn’t able to recognize Val and me except Val’s two sisters. He was reminded later by May Joy that all four of us were his former students.

Asking for prayers 26 September 2008

I received a sad news from Lyn yesterday. She went straight to Riverside Hospital upon arriving from Manila. Her mom was rushed to the hospital again due to stroke. As far as I’d known, it was her 2nd attack within this year. She has been in intensive care since yesterday. According to Lyn, her mom opened her eyes from time to time but couldn’t say a word.

How Much is Too Much? 18 June 2008

Filed under: health regards — isay @ 7:23 pm

I accompanied my father yesterday for one of his regular check-ups. One thing I hate about it is the endless wait you have to endure before your turn. We called up 45 minutes before to know if the doctor is in and we were told that the doctor is coming. When we arrived at 11 am, I overheard an assistant telling an old lady patient that the doctor is coming. Where is she coming from anyway? Hehe…
