Team Bertonians love their TL 16 April 2009

Val’s team’s outing in Kawasan Falls gave birth to the name Team Bertonians. It was said that they met a man named Berto in Kawasan and he stayed with them like a real friend. They had their own social network site exclusively for Team Bertonians and they even printed a set of t-shirt and polo shirt with a design and a name of “Team Bertonians.” I was their new member in their site just a month ago. Val also bought me a set of the team’s shirts.

Nobody from Val’s co-workers knew his birthday until an email was sent to the TLs, STLs, and OMs showing the birthday celebrants for this month. It was almost 10 or 11 p.m. of April 2nd. Val was greeted by everyone and his OMs bought some boxes of pizza from Shakey’s using Sodexho GC. Val said he added extra boxes as a treat to them.

Four days after, on April 6th morning, Val’s agent each contributed for a humble birthday celebration for their beloved TL. They had ice cream, cakes, and spaghetti after their shift. It wasn’t a Magnolia or a Selecta ice cream or any branded ice cream but a dirty ice cream with cones brought by his councilor-agent Raul. Just like a children’s party, huh!

Honey, Jaja’s wife, cooked the spaghetti and Steph with her friend Heart bought 3 boxes of chocolate cakes with a candle on one of the cakes. Nobody had a match or a lighter that time for the candle. A vendor inside their pantry was selling lighters and lucky enough, they were able to borrow it from her. Val blew the candle as soon as it was lighted so as not to hit the smoke detector. I wondered what Val wished before blowing the candle. :)

I wasn’t there when they had the little party in the pantry. It was just relayed to me by Val. I just remembered when I was with my former teams. We were the ones who paid for the foods instead of the birthday celebrant. It was fun, though.
