Last April 5th, HP-Tech Operations Managers, Paul and Ella, generously treated their team leaders for a lunch at Mooon Cafe – a Mexican-inspired restaurant in The Walk – as a reward for a good performance for the month of March. I wasn’t able to take a photo of the restaurant’s logo but it looks like “mooon” because there was a pair of round eyes after the first letter “o”. Their account reached the highest 4-dollar RPC the previous month. I don’t know what RPC means but it has something to o with their sales quota.
The restaurant has a unique design of ceiling fans and colorful displays on one side of its wall. It has a high ceiling interior and everything, including the crews’ uniform, is Mexican-inspired. Upon entering, one can see the sign “abierto.”
Everyone is cheerful as pitchers of fruit juice were served first. I think it was a mango juice with slices of calamansi, orange and watermelon fruits. Some came from their shifts while most of them were enjoying their rest days. Next, platters of tacos were placed on our table. Paul also called for 3 or 4 buckets of the new Gilbey’s gin. They were curious of the taste of this gin for its added green tea extract, citrus and ginger. A healthy drink for gin-lovers?
The restaurant doesn’t open until 11 a.m. when we arrived so it took a while for them to prepare and cook for our orders considering there were more than 20 of us. However, we still had the tacos plus the ensalada and sisig to keep us busy.
The Rib-eye Steak is their most expensive dish. Some ordered for it and I guessed it must be delicious but I settled for Tenderloin Steak while Val had Mexican Baby Back-Ribs. With the generous servings of the meat and its delicious taste, you can be satisfied and get your money’s worth. And they also accept Sodexho gift certificates which they used to pay for our festive lunch. I wondered how many Sodexho GCs worth 100 pesos Ella used…
