Extended celebration 6 April 2009

We pushed through with our plans to have a swimming session at D’ Family Park in Talamban hoping to start our regular swimming sessions once a week. The staff were still cleaning the pool when we arrived so Val jogged for a few minutes then we waited for them to finish as we watched some people playing with their dogs. Well… they were not ordinary dogs. They were huge.

We both had some laps crosswise and lengthwise. The pool wasn’t big enough for lapping yet we had some time doing our laps since it was still early for other visitors to take the plunge.

We then readied ourselves for our much-awaited buffet dinner upon arriving home. Unfortunately, last Saturday was a graduation day for some schools and Port was fully booked when we arrived. To our dismay, we went around for other restaurants that served buffet lunch at an affordable price. The most Val could think of was Joven’s Grill and Seafoods.

Like other restaurants, it was also full of guests yet we were able to find a vacant table. We were hungry but the food didn’t satisfy us. The dishes seemed ordinary for a price of Php 168 per person. It came with a single glass of softdrinks and the price is almost twice as much during Fridays and Saturdays compared to other days of the week.

Val was dissapointed because first, we weren’t able to call for a reservation at the Port and second, the foods in Joven’s didn’t taste that good. Port served 16 types of dishes for a price of Php 199 per person during lunch and 20 types of dishes with lechon for a cost of Php 299 per person during dinner. I just imagined how Val waited for that moment to try Port. Well… there’s always a second chance.

We didn’t stay long in Joven’s. Val doesn’t like crowded places. Aside from we’re stuffed despite the tasteless foods, it was so hot inside the restaurant. They have an airconditioned room with an extra charge but it was already full as well.

Before Val had a coffee break, off to SM City we went to look for a pen tablet which my brother kept bugging me to buy one for him. He had me look for a good brand of the pen tablet after Amam agreed to pay for it. We didn’t purchase it yet for he will ask Amam first if there’s a better one in Manila. The gadget ranges from Php 2150 to 7500.

Our final stop was the new Park Mall at the reclamation area in Mandaue City. We first bought the grocery items we needed in Savemore then left the bags in the car before strolling around the mall. It was only the soft opening of the mall yet there were already a number of people dining at some of its restaurants while a few did some window-shopping inside the mall.
