Eraserheads Reunion Concert 29 August 2008

Filed under: point in time — isay @ 10:44 pm

Eraserheads will have their reunion concert tomorrow at The Fort after being lost from the limelight for almost 7 years. I’m glad they’re still intact and they’ve been rehearsing for this concert without the hustle and bustle of the media. I like their songs although I only know Ely Buendia from the group. Hehe…

Unfortunately, I will not be able to watch my favorite band’s much-awaited concert. :(

Val almost lost it 27 August 2008

Filed under: the lighter side — isay @ 4:21 pm

Val texted me this morning that he would go to La Nueva Supermarket to buy something to cook. He usually takes his meals in their canteen during his work days. Today is his rest day so he has a lot of time to cook. Not only he can save if he cooks, he can also eat healthy and enjoy his favorite meals.

Little doggie plays the giant burger 27 August 2008

cd cases

cd cases

My mom was looking for a non-stick frying pan when we came across a shelf of cd cases. They are not just ordinary cd cases but they are stuffed toys with cd cases. I’ve seen them before in Divisoria but I didn’t buy them because I have a lot of things to bring home during that time.

Luckily, we are able to bring extra money. My mom just bought a strainer which only costs Php 40. So I got two for myself – a small bulldog which reminds me of Val because he loves dogs and a giant burger which reminds me of food! :D

Elmer joins “Sa Pula, Sa Puti” 23 August 2008

Filed under: point in time, the lighter side — isay @ 12:25 pm

Lyn texted me if I was watching Eat Bulaga’s “Sa Pula, Sa Puti.” Elmer, my former teammate, was one of the contestants. As much as I wanted to look for a tv to watch it, I don’t have the chance that Wednesday, Aug. 13, because Val and I are taking the “ro-ro” (roll on-roll off) ferry from Toledo City to San Carlos City. We are heading Bacolod City to have his car completely repaired.

Restoring Beauty from The Ruins 21 August 2008

Filed under: swing around — isay @ 10:08 pm

Amam and Vima are going back to Manila tomorrow afternoon after a week long vacation here. They wanted to visit the structure of The Ruins in Talisay City and I agreed to join them since I haven’t been there myself. I saw the old structure from some wedding photos but I don’t have any idea that it was situated in Talisay City. It was our first time to visit the place so we just rely on the road sign towards our destination.

I accompanied my brother for an eye check-up in EO (Eye Optical) yesterday afternoon. He has been using his eyeglasses for a couple of years and he lately complains of unclear vision. Last year, I have my eyeglasses corrected there and the price is affordable. Because only the supermarket is my favorite section in SM Bacolod, I forgot if EO is located in the North or the South Wing.

My all time favorite! 20 August 2008

triple chocolate mousse cake

triple chocolate mousse cake

I would like to share my all time favorite Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake from Calea aside from cheesecakes. It’s a 3-layered mousse cake and no other cakeshop has it but Calea. I’ve been to Metro Manila since I was small and has been to Cebu for quite a while for the last 2 years but nothing compares to this delicious cake. I prefer an all-mousse cake rather than the one with a chiffon cake.

If I remembered correctly, it costs Php 480 the very first time we bought a whole cake. Now, it costs Php 650. They have wide varieties of mouth-watering cakes and sweetest pastries. They also offer delicious sandwiches and beverages. They used to have one small shop in Lacson St. beside L’Fisher Hotel. But due to constant demand, they have bigger space now and branches in Robinson’s Place and East Block.

The next time you drop by Bacolod City, try Calea’s irresistible cakes. :)

Mt. Pinatubo on Mt. Manunggal 16 August 2008

Filed under: swing around, tasty treats — isay @ 8:05 pm

Mt. Pinatubo is not a mountain over another mountain nor the climactic volcano, which is situated in northern Luzon, that destroyed lives, houses, infrastructures and livelihoods in 1991. It’s the C-47 presidential plane named after the killer volcano by former President Ramon Magsaysay.

I’m clueless of Mt. Manunggal when Mark invited me for a trekking adventure with his co-workers. History is not my favorite subject. I remembered failing that subject when I was in 5th grade. Haha! I hate remembering names, places and dates especially when I’m not very familiar to any of them. Mark added it’s the crash site of the former President Ramon Magsaysay. Only then did I have a very slight idea of where we will be heading. I know that former President Magsaysay died in a plane crash but I don’t know where and how. :)

Armie's token from the team
Armie’s token from the team

We reached Argao last July 16, Wednesday, after an hour and a half trip. It’s also in the Southern part of Cebu. It’s the hometown of Armie, one of Val’s agents, who celebrated her despedida before she left for Malaysia on the 20th of July.

Upon arriving, we took a tricycle and headed straight to Mahayahay Beach Resort. She rented a hall with 2 airconditioned rooms for our overnight stay. It was right in front of the sea. One room which was beside the 2 bathrooms had a single double-deck bed while the other room which was more spacious than the first one had two double-deck beds. Each room was well-maintained and the beddings were also included. It made the guests more cozy and comfortable.
